Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 LTE problems

Hi, I have one SM-N9005, I recived the update to lollipop 5.0... I made the update... my note 3 are showing the option "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)", I think don't need root my phone because I already have this option without root... BUT if I put a 4G chip on my note 3, It's never work, only get 3G speed... I use the same chip in other phone and the 4G works fine...

Somebody have the same problem?... have the option "LTE/WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)" but your phone never works with 4G?

Re: Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 LTE problems

Hi B. Diddy, I open this post... My carrier are CLARO (at Ecuador), in the webpage of the carrier say support "AWS4 1700/2100Mhz"
In the link that you sendme have "LTE 2100 MHz".

Re: Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 LTE problems

No, that's the problem. Band 4 AWS is a combination of 1700/2100, so you need to see that combination listed in the phone's specs.

Here's another specs page that's a little clearer: Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Full phone specifications. If you look at the specific bands supported by the N9005 variant, Band 4 isn't listed. 2100 Mhz alone is Band 1, which it does support, but that's not the same as 1700/2100 MHz. The other Note 3 variant listed, N900W8, does support Band 4, but unfortunately that isn't the model you have.

You can't add band support to a phone, so unfortunately, you're stuck with 3G speeds. From what I can tell on this website, the other available LTE band in Ecuador is Band 2 from Movistar, but your phone also doesn't support Band 2 (while the N900W8 does).

Sorry!
