Note 4 s view cover - favourite contacts when screen is locked

I've noticed that if your device is locked, you can't access your favourite contacts via the s view window. If you try, you are instructed to unlock your device. I would like to change this, as the point of being able to call contacts without opening the flip case is rather lost if I can't do it when the phone is locked. However, I've failed to find the relevant settings. Perhaps it's lacking for security reasons, but it seems peculiar that the option would not be afforded to me, as using "slide to unlock" is allowed, which is obviously much less safe.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change this?
