More than likely. It won't be much bigger than my OPO, and everything else is pretty much an improvement. I'm excited!

If I stay with Verizon, I will most likely get this phone. If I bring it home and still can't make calls, it's going back.

I will upgrade only if call performance and signal reception is improved. I would love to see 4G more often, instead of the switching back and forth between 4G and 3G that goes on frequently with my Note 3.

Sounds more like a carrier issue than a phone issue.

I don't think so. When the signal strength is 4 bars, a rarity for me, I get and retain 4G. But the sensitivity of the Note 3 seems to be lacking often enough that in a weaker signal location, it can't receive well enough in order to maintain or get 4G. For me the proof that is a phone issue is when my wife's old HTC Rezound reports a stronger signal and can maintain 4G better than my Note 3 in the same location with the same carrier.

I won't be upgrading from my Note 3. The Note 4 has some nice improvements but nothing major, imo. I don't think a 1440p display is going to be a major change from my already very nice 1080p display. Better camera and faster 805 chip is a nice bump as well but nothing major.

I'm still very happy with my Note 3 and I didn't see anything from the live event that made me want to go out when its available for purchase and drop $750 for it. I'll be waiting for the Note 5.

OIS alone is something major imo. The last time I had a phone for the "2 years" was the iPhone 4 and i upgraded early because AT&T did 20 month cycles at the time lol

Yes. But only because it'll be free for me (I won a competition recently which nabbed me 6 galaxy s5's. I sold them all off for a note 4 and moto360 fund)

I have to say im underwhelmed by both the launch and the product.

I'll definitely check it out. Haven't owned a Note product since the Note 2, so looking forward to seeing the 4.

One thing that had me scratching my head was that they went back to USB 2.0 when the Note 3 had USB 3.0? No idea why they went backwards there.

Otherwise the device looks fine. I'd be looking into flashing some sort of AOSP or AOKP rom to get it looking like stock Android though.

Tossing my POS 5S into the verizon return style. Its very funny I have had many, many, many, many different phones over the say 5+ years nearly all Android and a few Windows Mobile and the obligatory iphones, 4,4S, 5, 5S but mostly 90% Android. Everytime I buy an iphone I always end up getting rid of it within 3 months. It just lacks way too much for me to find it useful. I mean in a typical year I get 7 phones and only 1 is an iphone, try it, get very bored with it and sell it. Now with Edge I am VERY happy to just pay it down to 50% and get rid of it or sell it and move to AT&T. Sadly with no actual release date announced by any carrier I have to weigh the options of selling or Edging up on Verizon.

TBH while i prefer USB 3.0 since it is now 2.0 i dont have to worry about using which cable with my Note 3 and Tab S 10.5 :P

Yes the OIS is a nice improvement but the overall phone won't be much different then what I have right now. The Note 4 is gonna be a awesome phone but if your a Note 3 owner I don't feel like you need to run out and upgrade on the first day.

I think it would have been good if they started shifting all their devices to USB 3.0. Especially if the devices are now taking 4k video, transferring extremely large video files back and forth over USB 2.0 is irritating.

It's a minor annoyance. I just found it strange that they went back to USB 2.0 there. Assumed it would be USB 3.0 again.

    I agree with that.

While the parts have gotten better from the Note 3 to Note 4 (screen, camera, processor etc), the UI seems largely untouched. I think the user experience for the Note 4 will most definitely be similar to the Note 3. I don't think Note 3 users would be missing out on some sort of amazing piece of tech if they held on to their phones.

Note 4 is an evolutionary upgrade, and that's great. Great for people who haven't had a new phone in a while - the Note 4 will be a big update. Great for Note 3 users who don't want to shell out the $outright or re-contract as it won't be catastrophically different from what they already have.
