64 gig sd card unmounting and mounting on its own on note 4

just wondering if you have had any similar problems from users regarding the note 4 and the sd card.. i took mine out from my note 2 64 gig card and put it in my new phone and it constantly unloaded and loaded and showed errors all day.

is this a housing issue on the phone since there is no spring load on the insert or is there another reason for this?

id sure hate if this is the phone...i am currently transferring everything off the card and formatting it and then putting all my files back on

we shall see if that works

That didn't work for me. Multiple cards and it kept mounting and unmounting. Phone 11 days old and its going back tomorrow.

What is the particular SD card you are having problems with? I have a Sandisk ultra 64GB card going back to Sandisk for replacement for the second time. I put 40 gig on it and it mounts and unmounts continously. Can't reliably read and write to it. 10 year warranty they will sooner or later make it right. They are paying shipping. I just have to go without the card for a couple weeks.

Had the exact same thing happen with my Note 2.

If you have a SanDisk card that's why. Samsung phones kill SanDisk cards. Just look it up. You should get a diffrent brand or preferably a Samsung card.

Re: 64 gig sd card unmounting and mounting on its own on note 4

I think it is that particular card from Sandisk.

I have a SanDisk 32GB card that I had been using on Note 3 before I started using on Note 4. I have no problem at all.

I have been thinking of upgrading to 64GB. Now I am wondering whether I should or not.

Use to have that problem on another Samsung device with a Sandisk card. After weeks of troubleshooting, reformatting and data loss, changing the card was the fix. I only use Lexar and Samsung cards now. No issues.

I have had no problems with my 64gb SanDisk card that I got from Costco. Try it and if you should have a problem, just exchange it til you get one that works right.

I had a similar problem with my SanDisk Ultra 64GB card, which had worked fine on my Note 3. Reformatting didn't help. However, I found that my SanDisk 32GB card worked properly. So I'm using that for now, and I sent in the 64GB card for an RMA replacement.

Re: 64 gig sd card unmounting and mounting on its own on note 4

only unmounted once today so far.....whereas yesterday it was doing it every 5 minutes...progress but no perfection yet..man this phone is fast as ****

Re: 64 gig sd card unmounting and mounting on its own on note 4

I have reformated mine twice now. It is still unmounting and remounting. argg I had no problems with this card and my note 2? There is truly no fix for this? It is a shame....

Re: 64 gig sd card unmounting and mounting on its own on note 4

As others have indicated, Samsung-branded cards work well. I've had issues with other brands (Lexar, Sandisk, Adata, etc.) and the ONLY branded card that I haven't had issues with is "Samsung". Not sure why the phone is so finicky, but it is.

i had similar issues with my adata 32gb turns out the problem was the card itself. I ended picking up a samsung pro micro sd it's a better card a bit pricier then other brand but offers better performance. The pro that i have reads at 90mb and writes at 80mb. Also offer heat resistance, and water resistance. I got mine on Amazon they always have a good prices.

I guess I will be looking into a new card kind of disappointed no fixes. I also find it "strange" that it seems to be a Samsung card that just works... sounds like some kind of underscore gimmick to get one to stay within an ecosystem.. I am probably being a bit paranoid there lol... What do you all think about the 128 GB cards out.. I like to carry all my stuff with me, have a lot of digital comics and music and eBooks.. not to mention photos lol...

I use the Samsung 128GB EVO card and haven't had any issues with it.
