Looks like clear tape over the camera but the camera is taking fine pictures.

Should this clear tape be removed and does it peel right off easy?

If there's a plastic film that was meant to be removed, it should be pretty easy. And yes, you should remove any protective plastic film. Your photos will come out even better!

There is one, it doesn't affect picture taking like it did with an older model (can't remember if it was the S4 or the Note 3), it is NOT so easy to take off as you need one of the edges to be lifted, you don't need it removed but I suggest you do because eventually it'll wear out, you'll get dust in there and that might even scratch your glass if a big enough grain gets stuck and then you rub that onto your lens cover. Plus, over time, the edges will lift up and it'll just look bad.

Yes there is a clear protective film on the camera lens for packing and shipping. It has a hole in the center of it that lines up pretty well with the actual lens. You can remove it. The easiest way is to stick a small piece of scotch tape to it and lift it off.

Did anyone have the plastic on the Verizon model?

For the life of me I can't see one there. I don't want to ruin the lens by picking at it or leave a residue using the tape method.

Mine is the Verizon version made in china and it had the plastic on the front screen but not the camera or home button. Hope this helps.

I've kept mine on simply because the pictures are already so clear. Even with a case, I can definitely see it getting scratched.

I have the Verizon note and I'm convinced it didn't come with a lens cover.

No need to take it off.

The tape has a circular cut out for lens, so its just protecting the camera glass and not covering the actual lens.
