On my Note 4 why does the lock screen only stay on for 5 seconds?

Note 4 lock screen issue - lock screen only stays on for 5 seconds

No matter what time I set the lock screen to stay on for (such as 1 minute) it won't stay on for more than 5 seconds. I've tried doing restarts and turning the phone off and on to no avail.

Is this the same as when the phone sleeps on its own? I feel like mine sleeps way too fast regardless of what I set it at.

Lock screen doesn't have a variable "stay on" setting. The only setting I'm aware of is the amount of time before the screen locks.

Ok. I see what it says now. I added emergency info (drug allergies, blood type) to the lock screen but it doesn't stay on long enough for all the info to scroll through and be read.
