"Backup Lite" high battery and GPS usage?

Today's the first day this has happened, the GPS icon is almost always showing on my status bar and causing it to use up my battery faster. Does anyone have this issue? What did you do?

Is Backup Lite a preinstalled Samsung app? Can you find it in the App Manager and disable it?

I'm not having any issues with battery drain by leaving GPS on 24/7 (a first for me on an Android phone, too).

What is Backup Lite? And why are you using it?

If you're using it to back up your apps, you're better off using your Google account for that. No additional battery drain going that route.

And HiFont? WTF does a Font pack need "high battery" use for anyway?

When I go to press on Backup Lite there's not even an option to uninstall? I don't even know where I got that app from

That means it was preinstalled bloatware or some Samsung system app. Is that Turn Off button greyed out? If so, you can't even disable it.

Does a reboot change anything? If not, try wiping the system cache, which won't erase any personal data: Wipe cache partition: Samsung Galaxy Note 4 (N910) | T-Mobile Support

My guess is you enabled backup services with Samsung or your carrier during the initial setup process.

Can you turn it off?

Got it, it was the Avast anti theft app that I installed when I got the phone. "Track device every 5 minutes was checked" much better now

Backup Lite is part of Avast? If so, then the Turn Off button may have been greyed out due to Device Administrator privileges. Glad you figured it out!
