Would it? The battery life goes down 4 percent in only ten mins talk time and shoots down quick with only app usage and very fast with camera ,gaming and video. Is this a software issue.

Not necessarily. What is screen brightness set to? What is your standby battery drain like (in percentage lost per hour without use)? A good standby drain is less than 2% per hour. I get about 1%, less if I turn sync off.

Install GSAM battery monitor. Restart the phone and don't touch it for at least an hour, longer if possible. Then look at GSAM's various screens and it will tell you drain statistics and what applications use the most power. When trying to improve battery life I find it most helpful to try to control standby drainage first.
