Aluminum trim fading? Take your case around your note 4 off and tell me if you notice what i am

Hey guys i dunno if its my tpu case causing the aluminum shiny trim to fade or if my phone came this way cause i didnt really look at the trim till now and noticed the front trim going around the phone is starting to fade but yet the back trim is still shiny aluminum now the pic im showing of the fading trim is not as bad as the pic looks it still shines but its more dull then the back :(View attachment 1509120141127_001607.jpg20141127_001649.jpg2[/ATTACH]VDGRHRHTJ.jpg

All unpainted/uncovered aluminum will fade in some sort. Depending on humidity or how dirty your fingers/hands are dictates how fast it starts to look dull. And yes, it's normal.

Just take a buffing cloth or micro fiber cloth and buff it. If you're good with your hands, you can also use some aluminum polish.... It will clean it right up. Just be careful...

I had the same tpu case on my note 3 and it still looked the same a year later.....
 
I work in the sheetmetal industry. If the exposed aluminum doesn't have some kind of coating on it, like a clear anodized coat, it will start to oxidize.

This is what I was trying to say.....you said it much better! The word I was looking for was "oxidation" but was having a brain fart!
