Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Black edging on homescreen top?

Hi all!
Does anyone else have this top "edging" on the top of their homescreen? The cloudy black edge on top? Only shows on homescreen.
It didn't used to be there, and maybe showed up after the last update, I'm not sure if I didn't notice until now. Does anyone know how to remove it?
It interferes with my notifications visually. Is this normal? Screenshot included. Thx in advance.

It's Not part of the wallpaper? Have you tried a different wallpaper to see if it persist?

Do you have a third-party launcher installed? Sometimes you can enable a feature to have the shadow/shade effect on the status or launcher bars.

If you do, then I'd suggest checking the settings of that launcher.

No, it's not in the wallpaper itself. Happens with all. I thought it was the screen going bad, but it goes away for everything but the homescreen.
No third party launcher installed.
Thought maybe it was a setting, but couldn't find... Any other ideas?

Mine also has this "shadow" at the top of all home screens. I'm on Verizon. There is no shadow at the top of app screens, though.

I'm also with Verizon and have it at the top of my home screen, but until it was pointed out, didn't notice it. It's not enough to bother me, thankfully.

It is supposed to be like that. If one were to use a wallpaper with a white background on the top, the shadow helps those see the notifications which are usually white.
