Note 4 Volume control

Is there a way to cut all the sounds down with the Note 4 Volume Control or is there a app that will do this ? I want to use the phone volume rocker to control all the alerts or sound at one time. When I use the volume control on the Note 4 to lower the sound or put the ringer in vibrate I want all the alerts to vibrate. I am not in to rutting a phone I have never done that and I don't want a 700.00 paper weight. :(

Perhaps try the app Shush! It will turn all down for an amount of time that you can set.

Will the normal volume control work for you? Hit the volume button. Click the gear. Slide all the volume levels down. See the pictures below for explanation.

Or do you want a quicker/simpler one-touch silencer?

I want a one touch that will put all my text alerts in vibrate when I put the phone on vibrate using the phone rocker.

Re: Note 4 Volume control

I use the Sound settings In the control panel to set vibrate mode . BUT this doesnt turn off the media volume so Videos and games will still have Sound . wish this could be fixed. Ringer, system and notifications will all be set to vibrate.

Re: Note 4 Volume control

So if I turn the volume down, it will only affect the ring volume and not the notification volume, too?

Re: Note 4 Volume control

That's unfortunate. Coming from a Nexus that seems like extra steps just to turn volume down.
It's actually context aware. So if you're on a call the rocker will control ring volume. If watching a video it will control media volume. Etc. I guess it's how each person uses their phone

Right. I like that and understand that. I just mean if I'm staring at the phone and I want to turn the volume down on the ringer and for notifications, I have to turn the ringer and notification volume down independently from each other.

As has already been suggested, try Shush.

Also see my post above. Turn off sound in notification panel.

And I completely understand that. I'm just saying, to be able to change them both at the same time without going through the extra steps would be nice.
Yep. One of the things I miss on my old iPhone is the silent switch on the side.

Re: Note 4 Volume control

Thats's a tough one . . one would think that given the fact that volume controls are not unified it must mean that the majority of users want the ability to selectively control volume. Problem is there's many that WANT unified volume control like you're asking for.

I'm rooted and have my devices set up (xposed module Wanam) to force the volume control to show all sliders at once once I use the volume keys. They're not unified but at least at a glance I can see the various levels and set them by their sliders.

I'm not sure there are applications out there that do this but I wouldnt be surprised if there are.
