Hello, my note 4 is just a week old, i'm getting 3.5h of SOT with 21% left, I wanted to ask if this is normal, as seeing other people get like 5-6 hours of SOT. I pretty much didn't used it heavy. I have Greenify installed. I'm with 4.4 Kitkat. Will buying a new battery help or I should ask them to replace the device if possible?

Do a factory reset after upgrading to lollipop!

Also give your battery 1-2 weeks until it calibrates correctly

Check my screenshot had 21% left

Edit : And that was with 17h of total time

I too can get over 5 hrs OST but only get less then ten hours standby. I doubt that people who are getting 5+ hrs are getting a full day of standby. I could do the same on KitKat as well but get less than a day with 5+ hrs.

You proved my point. I can get 5+ hrs OST but get about the same standby time as you. For me, getting 1-1.5 days of stanby with 3 hrs OST is great. Perfectly acceptable.

This is my Note 4 since upgrading to Lollipop. This is exactly the same times I would get on KitKat. I can easily get another hours OST and I will.

Although i will sell it in few months

Im just waiting now for the note 5 leaks.. I hope it will have micro sd and removable battery

Else note isnt going to be a choice for me.. I think

I've been getting close to 7 hours or more SOT and generally around 12-16 hours battery time.

BUT.. My phone is doing extremely well with the battery since they had to switch my phone out the other day. A couple of days ago, after 8 hours on battery while I was asleep, the crazy thing calculated I had 7 plus days of battery left.

My first one did well, not this well. I keep waiting for a shoe to drop with this doing so well.

Adding my input here. My battery life was awesome with kitkat. Since updated to lollipop couple of weeks ago, I got a bit more drain while using the phone. I did factory reset, and cleared cache but that didn't help at all. My experience was not that bad but I was always looking to improve. Couple of days ago I did another system partition cache clear and today I'm amazed with my battery life.
I'm presently at 42% with more than 3 hours sot and more than a day since last charge!
Maybe do another clear cache for some that don't have an amazing battery life. Bluetooth on all the time.

Screen on time will mean different things to everyone. It's what you are doing while the screen is on that matters. A person that is just texting and emailing is going to get very different time than someone watching videos and streaming music.

Hmmm... 3.5h is quite low for average usage. I suggest going to Power Saving -Power Saving Mode -Restrict Performance and tick CPU, ONLY CPU, that should bring down power usage a bit as even when the CPU is in power save it has plenty power. Also set your GPS to Power Save and maybe try disabling apps you don't use in Application Manager.

Only thing is, this phone shouldn't need power saving mode to get more SOT than that, unless there are very bad signal issues, tons of stuff syncing all the time or playing major games or streaming constantly all that time.

I would rather have an hour less of OST then disable things on the phone that make it less useful.

3.5 hrs OST is acceptable depending on how much standby time there is. The OPs screen shot shows 12 hrs standby so yes, I think that is less usage for what he is getting. We also don't know what he was using the phone for doing those 12 hrs and what the brightness is set at. Could be lots of reasons.
