So you did this...

Then, press and hold power, volume up and home keys at the same time, for a couple of seconds.
Recovery mode menu will be eventually displayed on your phablet.
There you can use volume up and down button to scroll up or down and power key to select.You can return to Android OS by selecting “reboot system now” option.

...and it won't work?

I need to know if I do update to LOLIPOP firmware. .can I Odin back to Kitkat later and flash Kitkat roms or will I be stuck on lollipop firmware for good?..also if on LOLIPOP firmware can you flash Kitkat roms ..I know must read full op and sometimes they tell you this info..but if not talked about. .I know need know these things before I update.

Well.. With Verizon and AT&T you can't root Lollipop yet. Root is close, but not there. Also both of those have locked bootloaders and Devs say the bootloader will not be unlocked, so no ROMs for Verizon or AT&T.
