Gmail notifications stopped showing up in the lock screen and notification menu

The last few days I've noticed that Gmail notifications (lock screen and notification menu bar) have stopped appearing. Anyone else noticing the same behavior?

I double checked that Notifications are set to on for my two Gmail accounts, and the same for "Application notifications" in "Sound and notification" Settings.

I get plenty of traffic through my main Gmail account, and enough on the secondary that when I've woken up the past few mornings I expected to see notifications waiting for me on the lock screen and in the notification menu bar. The same should be true during the day for Gmail notifications. Update: I should add that I am getting Notification bar and lock screen updates for the native Samsung email client.

I'm on Verizon with 5.0.1, and Gmail Version 5.3.95312851.

Strange, this morning notifications are working as they should on the lock screen and notification bar/menu. Changed nothing, so it must have been a temporary (few days) glitch.

Same thing happened to me on my S6 today. Weird
