I've just got a new router that has ac wifi and can aggregate both bands for better coverage.
How do I set up the Note 4 to use ac?
The router has separate SSIDs for the two bands. Do I have to make them the same?

The note 4 already come set up to use 802.11ac wifi. You just need to connect to your new router to use the faster network.

Er yes, but what do you mean by "connect"?
The router has separate SSIDs for 2G and 5G. I can connect to either, but I'm only seeing that single band.

The router is a DrayTek 2860ac,
But I guess the same principle applies for any router. After all if I visit an office or store with ac wifi I can't ask them what router they are using :)

Mine automatically connects to ac on 5G when in range, I didn't have to set anything up and SSIDs have different names and not hidden.

D Android you gave me the hint.
The SSIDs were both hidden. I made them unhidden and now the phone gets the full bandwidth when I connect to the 5G band.
Thanks to you and the others for your help!
