Why does my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 turn off when making a call?

Samsung Galaxy Note 4

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and I tried making a phone call. My phone just turned itself off and tried coming back on and just kept coming up with the switch on screen saying Samsung... And in the top left hand corner of my screen it saying ''RECOVERY BOOTING'' and it wont switch on atall. What is it doing? Will it come back on... Please someone help me as I am waiting for an important phone call and I haven't got any other phone to put my sim card into.... And if its not broke and it will come on. Then how long does it take as its been like this for about an hour now already..!

Welcome to AC.

I was going to suggest removing the battery for a few minutes and replacing, but it's probably not that simple. Here's a similar problem, encountered by an S4 user:
