Trying to root Sprint Note 4, Lollipop 5.1.1 - Tried to install TWRP with SuperSU embedded but created a boot loop. Had to reinstall factory file version.

I would make sure you have beastmode kernel downloaded on your device and then, I would Odin TWRP. Reboot the device into TWRP and flash beastmode kernel. This is the key to not getting a boot loop on 5.1.1. You first have to have a custom kernel with SE Linux set to permissive installed, then you can root. Don't use the TWRP root option. Download Chainfire's super SU .zip file for 5.1.1 and flash it in TWRP. You can find it with a quick Google search.
