How can I use my Vodafone sim in a Verizon note 4

I purchased a Samsung note 4 Verizon on E bay and despite all the assurances from the seller, it won't allow my Vodafone sim to connect. It will only search for a Verizon signal and it will not allow roaming. Any advise please?

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>More Networks>Mobile Networks>Network Mode, and see if there's an option that doesn't include CDMA (i.e., look for LTE/UMTS/GSM only). Also, select Network Operators there and see if you can select Vodafone over Verizon.
