Why does my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 battery drain when the device is off?

Samsung galaxy note 4 battery drains when device is off

I have to keep my my phone off and leave it in the locker during my 4 hours shift. Before turning off it is always over 60% charge. But as soon as I turned on it after the shift it turns off just after home screen comes up and the message pops up aaking to charge thw fone and I see an exclamation mark in battery icon and the device shuts down. I have a screen shot of battery usage but I dont know how to post it here.Device is 1 year old but if I dont turn off it, it works as usual.
