Emails keep popping back up

For some reason, all the emails that I have deleted keep popping up every time my phone syncs. I have the new Note 5.
Can someone please tell me how to stop that?

Make sure whatever email app you're using is set to delete emails from both the main account and the phone.

How do i go about doing that? I am using version 5.1.1 and email app that came with the phone.

I don't see that option in the native email app. I use gmail (and the gmail app).

I have 3 yahoo e-mail accounts and 1 gmail account. That is why i use the stock email app...

From what I've read, this was an issue on the S5 as well. A few solutions that worked for various people.

1. Deleting and readding your various email accounts as POP3 rather than IMAP will add the option of deleting from the server as well.

2. Some reported that swiping to delete rather than selecting, then deleting worked.

3. Install a 3rd party email app.
