Miss the Menu button

On the Note 4 and other Samsung devices you could press the squares to get all the open apps or you could press and hold the squares and get menu options in some apps such as checkbook. That was a vital feature because checkbook is an older app and that menu feature was the only method I had to pull up features like backup/restore. So I currently can't restore my old backup.

Does anyone know of a tweak or way that I can get this back? Thanks!

Not working for me. I try it inside the app Checkbook and as soon as I press/hold the back button the menu does come up but the checkbook program has exited so it is of no use to what I need.

Settings, personal, accessibility, dexterity and interaction, assistant menu, turn it on. In the program you want the menu, press the four squares and scroll down to the menu.

As far as the Checkbook app is concerned I can report that the solution Specularius posted does work to access the settings of the Checkbook app. I had the same problem because I used Checkbook for years before getting my Note 5!!! It's a few extra steps but it works. I've also since found Checkbook Plus to be a good basic Checkbook register app.

Now this is an answer... Thanks for the step by step! Works like a charm!
