How do I reply to text messages on the lock screen on my Note 5?

Hello there...How can i reply to a text message from lock screen without unlocking the screen on the note 5

You have to use some type of 3rd party messenger like ChompSMS or Textra.

If you are on Verizon, they have an app called Message+ that provides pop-up notifications. the pop-up allows response from the lock screen. Handcent also does the same thing. I have used both and I actually really like the Verizon app.

I use Handcent for that very reason.

Why doesn't the native app support reply from the lock screen notification in the same way if does for the heads-up floater? Makes no sense.

Because it's inferior to textra. Just go with that and you'll be good

I've tried Textra. It's nice, but I really don't like the appearance. If Messenger would allow you to see the message you're replying to, and allow mark as read from the notification, it would be perfect.

What about the appearance do you dislike? You can customize the colors to your liking...

Yes, I know, and I've messed with that. Still, imo, doesn't look as nice as Messenger. I like the rounded bubbles, and what I think is a cleaner look. I also like the way Messenger handles blocked contacts.
