New to android. I'm with a Note 5 for about a week now. Android version listed is 5.1.1, and I'm on Verizon. Is it something with my phone, or is there no "heads-up" notifications on the Verizon Note 5? I've read about how much everyone hates the heads-up notifications, and not sure I would actually use them, but I don't see anything in the various notifications settings that has a "peek" option. Right now, I use lightflow (incredible app) and get the led notifier. Plus I get notifications from badges on the app icons and when I pull down the notification shade. But, for example, if I'm in the browser and en email comes in...other than a very small envelope icon in the upper right corner of the phone, there's nothing else to notify me about it. Is that simply the way it is on Verizon?

It depends on the app. Gmail doesn't do it (no idea why) but hangouts does. It's an api so the app developers can choose to implement it or not.
