Don't take this as Gospel: rumor about WiFi calling on Verizon

I was talking with a Verizon rep today about WiFi calling on the Note 5. He let it slip that it would be available in Marshmallow just after the S7 was released. I asked does that mean M would be out in March for the Note 5 and he confirmed it would.

I don't normally beleive what the CSR says but if true that would be amazingly fast for Verizon.

I've said that all along. After the s7 was released, we would see some software action. Feels right.

Not sure what Wi-Fi calling is but should this fix the range problem with Wi-Fi on my Note 5? It was good on my 3 and 4 but my 5 sucks.

Not sure if the WiFi calling feature will help make the Note 5 WiFi radio stronger or able to stay connected when at the very edge of a WiFi network's range. I think that the WiFi calling feature depends upon a strong WiFi network being available, but perhaps the WiFi calling feature update will also improve the Note's WiFi radio in either case.

My issue with the Note 5 wifi is the exact opposite. I wish it would let go of a network somewhat sooner than it does. It ends up holding on when it can't transmit data efficiently at all when mobile data would be a better option.

My range seems to be noticeably improved
