Since marshmallow upgrade, why does my WIN 10 x64 not recognize my Galaxy Note 5

Ever since the marshmallow upgrade on my Galaxy Note 5, my WIN 10 x 64 laptop does not recognize (no PnP) my phone when I plug it in via USB. Upgraded the latest driver for PC from samsung website and still nothing. PnP literally does not work. Help. Thanks.

Welcome to Android Central! When you connect via USB, swipe down the notification panel and tap the USB icon, if present. Make sure MTP is selected.

One thing I noticed, If my phone is locked when I plug in the USB cable, The computer doesn't read it. If I unlock the phone, then the computer recognizes the phone and shows its files. Worth a shot.
