Note 5 won't ask to enter unlock code

I have the unlock code for my Note 5, but when I put an unsupported sim in (Virgin Mobile, the phone is from Rogers) it doesn't
prompt me to enter the unlock code. I tried restarting the phone with the unsupported sim in with no luck. Please advise.

Welcome back! Is Virgin Mobile Canada still primarily CDMA? If so, that might explain the incompatibility--the Rogers Note5 doesn't have a CDMA radio.

Virgin Mobile Canada is no longer primarily CDMA, they basically run the same way Bell does here. They are like how Fido is to Rogers.

Did you get the unlock code from Rogers themselves, or from a 3rd party? If it was from Rogers, have you spoken with them to see why it won't work?
