Very irritated (Verizon Note 5 64GB availability)

So the demise of the Note7 has raised issues which you all know. I don't like the other Samsung devices, I prefer the Note series. I temporarily got into the 32gig and was promised the 64 gig which is on
BACKORDER, Waiting 3 months. Was to ship Dec 21st. Received text message from Verizon order canceled because Samsung is out. Seriously?
Said to upgrade by the 24th. I am NOT.
This is absolutely nuts. Hopefully statuswill change but I am not upgrading and they have not been charging me for the 32gig.

Note 5 called Verizon again.. The rep told me Samsung canceled because they have retired the note5

OP... when you say Samsung 'retired' the Note 5... can you elaborate?

I called Verizon and they said the Note 5 is not available for sale (at the moment)... but warranty replacements are available for those who have them. This could be due to the run-on to buy them after the debacle of the Note 7. Quite possibly, Samsung no longer is manufacturing the Note 5 and what's in inventory, is being held, as mentioned, in reserve for warranty purposes.

No longer producing it. So am out of luck getting 64 gig.

Wow. I would have hoped they would continue the Note 5 for awhile to take up the slack until they can bring a new Note to market.

You could find a used 64gb on swappa or ebay. I know its "used" but it could hold you over until the S8 comes out.

I got a 64gb Note 5 off eBay, used, but was in excellent condition.

Don't you imagine actual production was over a long time ago? Like before the Note 7's went into production? I don't know, but I imagine that it would be nearly as difficult to resurrect an old product as to tool up and start production for a new one... I could be wrong, but I think all the "new" Note 5's had been made some time ago...

No longer available. If Samsung has they aren't going to allow me to trade. Verizon said they have stopped manufacturing them
