Can a Galaxy Note 5 Hacked Over Wifi?

I have a fully updated galaxy note 5. I've been using a public wifi and think that my phone my have been hacked. My question is if it's possible to hijack my camera and microphone just from using the public wifi.

most hackers use MiTM to collect credentials you type into website.
but at my discretion it can't harm your device if you used it to update your system.
