Anyone in Canada buy unlocked from Samsung website?

I'm still looking to get some definite answers on this topic. Have you bought the Note 7 or either of the S7 versions unlocked though Canada's Samsung store? If so have you received any updates for your phone?

I am from Niagara Falls, Canada. It's my understanding you won't get updates OTA on the unlocked device. As it's carrier specific and your phone being unlocked isn't recognized by the carrier in the same manner as a phone locked to them. You would be best just to plug in to Samsung Smart Switch on your desk top and check for updates that way.

I bought mine right from the Samsung store and it had an update right out of the box. It's not really an unlocked phone from Samsung. When you put your SIM card in, it locks automatically to that carrier, and you get all the carrier apps, etc with it. Samsung gives you an unlock code to take with you for unlocking

I bought an unlocked S7E from NCIX. It was from the North Africa/Middle East region. I get updates, you just have check manually. I'm newish to Android so I'm not sure if this is the newest update, but I literally just installed it 30 min ago. BTW, I am in Edmonton and with TELUS.
