The recall got me thinking. With all the reports of lag on the Note 7, is it possible some of this was caused by the faulty batteries causing overheating and subsequent throttling? Wondering if these new batteries will eliminate some of the UI lag. Just a thought.

I'm hoping that's the case, but I'm not sure. From what I've read & heard the issue happens when charging. I don't remember my phone ever getting very hot.

Maybe those batteries affected battery life too and will be better. Basically they are going to use a different supplier than Samsung. Can the Chinese supplier be able to produce 100% or are they going with a third company? Basically all the new phones with new batteries will reset the battery life story and have to catch review.

It would be nice if it at least came with the August security update, but my guess is it will be exactly the same. Since we may never know exactly what the battery issue was, it's possible that some performance issues for those who had them could have been related to heat or improper battery discharge. But what do I know lol...
