I recently purchased my Note 8 last week. Immediately I did the upgrade to 4.2 and have absolutely no issues with it. I did do a reset after the update since I had not put anything on it yet.

Could you please identify which version of galaxy note 8 do you have? model # please?

I bought a Note 8 last Monday and it came with Android 4.2.2 It is very fast and smooth. In fact it seems a lot smoother than my Galaxy S4 was with the same OS. My S4 now has Android 4.3 which made it smoother and faster, so now they are about on a par. I can't wait to see the Note 8 on 4.3 if we ever get it.

Brian, could you please tell me which model of note 8 do you have?

KitKat 4.42 for the U.S. Version GT-N5110 has been available since the end of May 2014. If you have this model check to see if the update is available to you.

Thanks for responding. Good for you! Did you have a chance to test if most apps can be relocated to the external SD memory? My core memory is almost full now with the AT&T GSM model in the US, I am stuck in version 4.1.2 and I cannot move too many of the apps to the external SD memory therefore highly restricted its efficiency.

Haven't put an SD card in it as I don't download a lot of apps. I have an SD card in my s5 and it's mostly just for music.

I'm here in BC Canada, I have the note 8.0 GT-N5110.
I've been running 4.4.2 for awhile now (~6 months)
I had an issue with it right after the install of it (from 4.1 to 4.4.2)
I did a factory reset, and its been awesome since (no issues what so ever)
pulling 15-16 hours use out of it, and yes you can move apps to the SD card.
