On my Note 3 the menu button did different things that the 3 dots in the top right corner of my Note Edge don't do.

1) in calendar I could copy an appointment
2) in messages, I could see a list of all my scheduled messages.

There are other things just can't think of them right now. But I miss the menu button in the left bottom corner.

1. It's a little longer winded, but if you press and hold the appointment a small menu will pop up and you can select "share via" and I usually use the "text" option and then it'll open up a huge list of ways to share including "copy to keyboard."

I'm not sure if you're using KitKat or Lollipop. I haven't used LP in quite awhile as I am on Kitkat, but that's how you do it in said operating system.
