Soft reboots since 6.0.1

I wake the phone from sleep and it's on the first boot lock screen where you have to enter your password instead of swiping the finger print.

The thing is, all my apps from my previous usage are still in memory, indicating that the phone hasn't actually rebooted.

What is this phenomenon?

Does this happen often? Have you actually caught it in the middle of rebooting on its own?

Same problem here. Can't figure this one out. My carrier is Verizon. Going to factory reset this weekend to see if it makes a difference.

In marshmallow, the cards remain open when you restart the phone...

It usually happens once or twice per day. I'm hoping for a solution other than an FDR, as I did one prior to taking the upgrade.
