But I might have to settle for the 10.1 2014 edition. Any major difference other than the screen? I love to sketch. I would love the 12.2 but the cost of it is killing me, I can't seem to justify the cost.
Will I regret this decision? I don't know much about them other than that I want a bigger screen.

Sounds like you already have buyers remorse, get what makes you happy.

I have owned both and the Note 10.1 2014 just didn't cut it for me. I think it was rushed to market in my opinion. I had the original Note 10.1 and it worked great. In fact I sold my 2014 edition on ebay and picked up the older model just because it worked better.

The only 2 things that the 2014 improved on were the gorgeous screen and it is a lot lighter than the original model. But as soon as the 12.2 came out I tried/tested it and to me it does everything the way the 2014 was supposed to do them, only bigger since it is a 12 inch screen.

So yes it is expensive but it is currently the best Android (if not tablet period) on the market. In my opinion.

Didn't your Mom teach you never to settle? When you settle you will always regret it! With what you want to do with it the 12.2 would be the best way to go, make up the price difference somewhere else, like cutting back on other bad habits!

I had the original Note 10.1 back in 2012, and I found it too buggy, plus the limited storage (16GB) just didn't cut it for me. Also the S-Pen had issues. That's why I returned it for an iPad 4, which at first worked well, until IOS7 crippled it.
Having had the Note Pro for a couple of months, now, I can say that while it was a learning curve (still is, lol) I would never ever consider going to a Note 10.1, even in the 2014 version.

Seriously, this puppy is 100% pure tech porn, lol.
And if you use the S-Pen, you'll be on cloud 9 every single time. The Note Pro is everything the the Note 10.1 should have been, with a much better display. If you use the multi screen function, you'll see what I'm talking about.
Also, accessing your favorite websites, you'll never need to use the pared down, simplified mobile version because the screen is roomy enough to allow for full desktop version which makes surfing and chatting way nicer.

Something tells me that if you get the Note 10.1, you'll be returning it and exchanging it for a Note Pro in no time.

Either that or always wondering what could have been.

For me, the use of the landscape keyboard was the deal breaker between the 10.1 2014 and the Note Pro. It seriously took some getting used to and i still make errors but it definitely does help to have bigger keys to type on this thing without an external keyboard. Having more screen space to work with multi-window is also a huge plus.

Yep, I agree. Oddly enough, when I'm home, I type on the full size keyboard, but when I'm at work, since I'm either standing or using tools in my left hand, I use the floating keyboard option and type one handed as I do on my phone.
And the multi screen is just so cool precisely because of the screen size.
Love it. I would never go back.

I have both the note 2014 and the note pro 12.2 (and the note 8) and the 2014 is an excellent tab. I've never had a problem and now with kit kat and hancom office very soon available it becomes a productive tab. The 12.2 though is extraordinary.

They're the exact same tablet except the 2014 edition. note doesn't have the silly magazine Ux... The only other difference relate to having a menu button versus a multi tasking button (hint... There's really no difference other than navigation), and having a USB 3 connector vs standard micro SD (if you have a note 3 or S5...this might matter to you so you only ha e to carry one cord). Oh..and the pixel density is obviously higher on the Note 10 2014,edition .

If you are purchasing this for work then you must justify the cost. If you are purchasing it because you want it and it does what you want to do with it, get what you want. You will never be happy with settling as others have pointed out. I tried both extensively in the Best Buy Samsun Store and without a doubt the 12.2 Note Pro is far superior. 4 window multitasking. Just to get to see the "green giant" of envy when iSheep watch me grap a photo from Gallery in one window into an email open in a 2nd window made the cost of a non issue. LOL All serious kidding aside IMO the Note Pro 12.2 is truly heads and sholders above the Tab 10.1 2014 in hardware, software, and useability (is this a word??).
