    Default Photo editing app wanted

Anyone have a recommendation for a good photo editing program? Doesn't have to be a Photoshop clone but should be at least as good as Elements. Something that takes advantage of our 12 inch screen would be nice. Some of the apps I looked at are for phones with small screens and I don't want that. No cloud editing please.

Photoshop Express is free. Photoshop Touch is nice, but not free (I know, you said doesn't have to be a Photoshop clone, but wanted to mention these).

I use <picsay pro> and autodesk <pixlr express>. I find both to be excellent Pixlr Express is free and PicSay is free with PicSayPro costing a small mount. I actually prefer both to the Adobe Photoshop options.

I second Pixlr Express, for free its pretty decent.

Kind of surprised with advances in hardware and ram someone hasn't compiled Gimp for Android yet.

Snapseed handles basic editing quickly. I doubt it matches up well to Elements (although I've never used Elements). https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...tware.snapseed

In my experience the best real app for serious photographers is Photo Mate R2. It is specifically designed for RAW photographers. If you shoot raw and want the ability to make Lightroom-like adjustments to your raw files and then even export them to jpg's then this is the app for you.

Unfortunately there is not a free version so seeing if you like the app will cost you 10 bucks but I find it the most complete and feature rich photo app in the Play Store.

There are links here to the Google+ group. Photo Mate Website

The app is still in development and there are plenty of bugs but in my opinion is works great.

My new workflow is using a microSD card installed in its the SD card holder in my camera, then when I want to work on my 24 mb raw files I just pop the card into the Note Pro. I also use slot 2 with my 16g EyeFi card for direct publishing of selected jpg's up to social media.

And Lastly, I also use Light Room Mobile to transfer images to my Note pro for editing. I use my Note a lot because I'm on travel all the time and I've retired my notebook. My next purchase is a ColorMunki so that I can calibrate my desktop monitors and my Note Pro for color.

Lightroom Mobile is a free app from Adobe which you can use only with the Adobe (.((/month Photoshop CC/Lightroom subscription.

IMO the major failing of the app is that it requires you to first load your raw files into Lightroom and then export them to the Creative Cloud. Only then can you edit the Smart Previews of your raw files for use again in Lightroom. If you're on the road with your DSLR LR Mobile will only handle jpegs.

For RAW images on the go and a Lightroom-like experience, Photomate R2 is the better option in my opinion

More good news for photo editing. Works pretty good for photo display as there are no editing apps that support it yet.
