note galaxy 'screen is going black!!!!!!!

Hi guys ,
hope someone gives me an answer , i have a small issue with my new samsung note 1
when i click on gallary icon sometimes the screen went balck and doesn't response but if i double clicked
on the back it return into home menu ? so is that a problem should i fear of ?
please anyone would answer me & and by the way i have the latest version of android software which is ice sandwich

Clear the cache for gallery and see if that helps.

settings>applications>all>gallery>clear cache
But it sounds like the memory card may be corrupt. Try removing the card, restart the phone and open the gallery. let me know if it crashes

first thank u.............. i followed ur steps but the "Clear Cache" button was unactivated so i suppose there is nothing in the cache to clear
& i am not using a external card in the moment , now when pressing on gallery icon it works fine but the problem which is the mobile freezing
& screen went black is happening from time to time so i don't is that something i should worry about ? & by the way when i press on the back button
i found that before it return back to home screen the gallery was opened , so what do u think ?
