Bypassing micro-usb charge port
first off i would like to say hi to everyone as this is my first post. My phone was not listed (or else i couldn't find it, not sure, still getting the hang of this site) and this one was the closest one i could find. i have a samsung galaxy PREVAIL (sph-M820). My micro usb port just broke today and i was trying to think of a way to charge it without having to buy something. I have seen a few posts about cutting a usb cord and attaching the wires to the pins on the phone with the battery removed to turn the phone on. My question is, if i do this then put the battery in will the battery charge? i don't have a lot of electronic know how, but i don't really see why this couldn't work.
Thank you for your help.
Re: Bypassing micro-usb charge port
please dont do that
if ur port is just unsoldered from the board. re attach it with some solder
soldering iron is a good investment
get some flux
if its busted compleatly also buy a micro usb port and do this
if its on the cable just buy a male instead of female
total cost withoht iron [lesd than 10 dollars]
with iron less than 20
shop around
anything worth fixing is worth fixing right
your idea, if a wire slips, fried phone.
wanna spend 20 or risk buying a new phone? retorical
