Re: Checked the ATT website @ midnight EDT
Nevermind, if I hit the link so that it prompts me for a zip code, then it now gives me the $149 price.
Nice!
Only works in IE though. Can't get that zip code option in Chrome for some reason.
It does say "$100 online discount" though. Hope the brick & mortar store will price match or offer the same deal.
Not yet available at Amazon.

I show $249 on my end...I guess the $149 price is only for new activations.

I can't order online because I need a new SIM (at least that's what I heard) and it was complaining about my unlimited data plan. I did verify that you can keep your unlimited data plan when you go to LTE. I was told though, that they will no longer give you a subsidized upgrade on that line unless you give up your unlimited plan. So I have to buy my phone outright. So, I'll be ordering over the phone later today.

Re: Checked the ATT website @ midnight EDT
As someone mentioned, the $149 is for those in LTE-networked areas then? I even have a Premier account thru my company, and coupled with the $100 discount, still at $249. I peeked over at walmart.com, but they don't offer it yet. They typically have sold phones around $40-50 less than ATT if purchased online.

I don't know that that's accurate. I would expect LA to get LTE before more suburban orange county, but I'm getting 149 under my oc zip code, and my girlfriend in LA is getting 250... I could be wrong though: it could be that OC is setup and it's just not listed on the coverage map.
Edit: AND LA is now listed as $149 instead of 249. Dont know why it changed , but disregard any anecdotal evidence from me. <sigh>Last edited by terefel; 11-06-2011 at 12:44 AM.

Re: Checked the ATT website @ midnight EDT
terefel--barring any any delays (you never know with carriers), I would expect the Skyrocket to get ICS early 2012, which would even the comparison, or in some ways, tip it over the Nexus. Maybe I need to have my brother-in-law check if his part of CA has the $149 price. The midwest is getting hosed on deals!
Edit: if the Galaxy Nexus made its way to ATT, that would make it an interesting choice for me.

Re: Checked the ATT website @ midnight EDT
Yeah the deal thing is really bizarre. It said 249 for LA, then I clicked to an OC zip and it said 149, and when I went back to an LA zip it said 149. Who knows what's going on.
And when skyrocket goes ICS, you're right it could tip the scales. But we also haven't seen gallery comparisons that I've seen, plus the big chipset debate.

Re: Checked the ATT website @ midnight EDT
^^^If it shows now as $149, I'd pull the trigger if I were you!

I'm holding out until later this month when the Galaxy Nexus debuts, and see if it comes out for more carriers than just Verizon. BTW, Best Buy has a deal (thru Tuesday) where if you get a phone, you get 5000 reward points, equivalent to $100 in savings. - 11-06-2011, 09:11 AM #25
Re: Checked the ATT website @ midnight EDT
I don't think $150 is based on LTE service.. I am in Boston, and LTE went live here today but the price is $250 for the phone. It might be based on something else or it could've been a mistake.
