Noob! I can't get kies or drivers to recognize

I apologize, I searched for this but cannot find it anywhere. I cannot get Kies to work on my laptop(windows) with my Skyrocket. All I get is USB device not recognized. I have rebooted, uninstalled, etc no luck. any ideas? your help is appreciated.

When I try to connect via wi-fi computer says

No Sim Card inserted, unable to continue.

But phone says connected

are you using a micro usb data/charging cable? or just a micro usb cable that doesn't transfer data? I have no idea if that's your issue, but I thought i'd throw that out there. If you don't have a data cable, then maybe that's why it's not being recognized. Hopefully it works soon for you! Kies is neat

U are correct sir! lol yeah figured that out a little while ago.

I used older Kies version and stock Samsung Cable and everything works now and I was able to root it
