Hello,

I'm fairly new to android. I live in Toronto and I'm travelling abroad, how do I turn off my mobile network?

Flight mode is no good for me because I would like to continue using my wifi.

Data enabler widget from the market is the easiest way.

Also settings, wireless and networks, mobile network settings, uncheck use data packets.

I'm not trying to turn off the data, what I want to do is disable my phone and text messaging and continue to use my phone with wifi.

Flight mode doesn't work because it disable my wifi and the phone options.

Can someone help me out?

Do what I said.

Click on Flight mode, wait a couple seconds then click on wifi and boom wifi comes on and your mobile network is off. Not that hard.

I misunderstood. eban44 is correct. Flight mode then turn on wifi. I do it all the time on flights and use inflight wifi.

Thanks fella, I need more patience. I saw that the wifi was immediately turned off in flight mode and figured it wouldn't work.
