Re: galaxy s2 skyrocket and straight talk
I have not tried it, but if the phone is unlocked it should work in theory. You probably wouldn't get 4g though, which is the whole point of this phone.

Re: galaxy s2 skyrocket and straight talk
I know unlocked iphones will work with only the Nokia E71 straight talk sim card but not any other straight talk sim so I was wondering if it will be the same with the skyrocket or if it will even work period with any straight talk sim card/

Without testing it with the sim cards, there is really no way to know for sure. I am willing to bet that it will work with any straight talk sim though.

Re: galaxy s2 skyrocket and straight talk
blweldon2 im thinking about buying the skyrocket in a week or 2 or I would try now myself. 1 more question is there a letter P in the set of numbers listed on the sim card? If there is then it will take the nokia e71 straight talk sim card and if it doesn't then it just may work with any.

There is no letter P. My sim is just straight numbers.

There is no TF on my sim. I checked my LTE sim from my skyrocket and my old 3g sim from a past phone. The only letter was an s on the back of both.

Got it, did it, it works, wth 4g. Got speeds up to 10mb down, which isnt bad for wallmart. Just need to get it unlocked.
Side note.
This is my first GSM phone, bought it outright to do just that, or put it on any network. I've heard talk about unlocking it, and having to pay a fee and stuff, but I'll tell u what I did, not knowing anything about it, just good general android know how.
Bought it from best buy, att phone, rooted and then flashed the ics leak, and it was unlocked.
Tried several different rooms and all work with the sim card.
Had problems with the radio, and decided to start fresh so I odin'd it back to stock and no luck. When I bought the sim I had already romed it out and it worked flawlessly. Tom I'm gonna use my dads att sim and see if it works and record the difference in signal quality, and stock/no stock att vs. no stock with diff setups. I'm gonna drop this bomb on other forums as well and see if this is a anomaly, or if it can be used to help others. Hope it helps u guys out!

Re: galaxy s2 skyrocket and straight talk
i bought a skyrocket off ebay(not unlocked) and got the at&t sim from straight talk. so far I have no problems. Been on it for about 4 days. coverage is better than my iPhone 4s on verizon. I plan to terminate my verizon contract and stick with straight talk. hope this helps. for what its worth, I have very good at&t coverage in my area.

Re: galaxy s2 skyrocket and straight talk
I just activated an at&t (locked)Skyrocket on straight talk in Louisville Kentucky. I thought if it was an AT&T phone you didn't have to worry about unlocking. I'm getting about 3 to 7 Mb down also. No problems at all much, much better than Sprint!

Re: galaxy s2 skyrocket and straight talk
Since my post on August 5, I've been experiencing a lot of data issues and MMS issues with a locked Skyrocket i727 (at&t)on Straight Talk. Sometimes the data just does not work, it just stops. But when it works it works really well. Is anyone else experiencing these problems? Does anyone have any suggestions to alleviate these problems? would unlocking the phone help? I rooted the phone with Odin. It's on gingerbread 2.3.6, does anyone think upgrading to ICS would help? I really need some help! Thanks
