sounds good to me, less than a month away. Maybe we get it June 11th like t-mobile users of the SII

That would be cool. I just bought my first android tablet with ICS on it and I like the features. Not sure the same ones would be on the phone version but I'm curious as to how different it'll be from Android 2.3.6 on here now.

Would definitely be nice but it sounds more like speculation from the article rather than official news. Just because it is due by the end of the second quarter doesn't mean it will happen.

Not sure how current this is.. Amazon INCREASED the price on the Skyrocket to over $125 from $39 which is a bad move. They were selling the HTC One X for $119 which is clearly a superior device.. You can be sure nobody will buy the Skyrocet at Amazon's highest price in many months now. ICS or not.

It wouldn't be too surprising if ICS was released this month. I'm using a rom based off the latest leak, and it seems just about perfect. Hopefully, AT&T can get it out soon. Would be nice to have an official release.

Which rom are you running? I am not sure that I want to wait for the official. Also, once the official version comes out, will you have to revert to Gingerbread to get the ICS update?

I'm running SkyICS 4.2E-11. If I wanted to get the official release, then yes I would need to flash the stock GB tar. Otherwise, I'll wait until one of the devs makes a custom rom based off the official release.

With all the time this has taken, this should be the most stable upgrade ever released...I still wonder why? Is their something in the hardwiring of the Skyrocket that made it difficult to port over to? Was it them trying to optimize for battery life? Do I even want to do the official update at all? Or stay with my rock-solid 2.3.5 which my 2.5 month old Skyrocket came with? Your thoughts?

If you're not sure, then I would do the "wait and see" until after it releases to see if there's any bugs with it.

AT&T is a disgrace for not getting this taken care of, my opinion of the company is far lower, how can they let T-mobile get the jump on them. There is no excuse for the ICS delay. I really doubt that AT&T can get its act together and release it. It would be nice if they allowed people some sought of credit or an early upgrade to skyrocket 3.

It's not AT&T, its Samsung. I have a friend who works for Samsung. He said it was supposed to be released OTA on 5/21. They encountered issues with the software so they have delayed it. It should be out this month according to him.

Samsung are so slow to release updates. I do hope when they release ICS for the Samsung Galaxy Skyrocket, it doesn't slow the device or kill the battery quicker...

Then again, the S III will be released soon

Interesting that this is the same month the S3 gets released on AT&T. Coincedence?

I can't believe they can't even give us a target date when to expect it if I was in charge of a company like at&t I would have a crew of people that do nothing more then work with our customers in forums and actually communicate if there having problems I would rather know about them then sitting here lost in the dark about our update companys are to hush about things like this

Unfortunately, the "there is an update but the servers are busy" message really should just say "the servers are busy" It has nothing to do with there actually being an update.

I feel like we're never getting an update. On a different subject, when I try and connect to kies it says device does not support kies update. Any suggestions.
