How to get longer custom ringtone....

My wife got a bigger badder Android and I got her skyrocket and I am trying to get it set up to suit me,
I had been using an old Iphone and had custom ringtones for each of my callers, I took those tones and converted them back to MP3 and added them to the ringtones of the skyrocket, when I try to assign one to a person the phone won't let me it says the tone is too long,
So I am hoping there is a app or some way to have whatever length ringtone I desire, these are already cut down so it's not like they are 3 min songs so help me out in a way to get them to work the way they are not cutting them down smaller.

I'm not sure if either of these can rectify it but you can try either Ringdroid or Ringtone Maker.

This is weird, I went back after reboots and other mucking around with it and now it works, it accepts the tones, very odd, but I have another question for a new thread....
