What does the W in resolution selection mean?

On the camera setting menu, when choosing resolution, There is either a "W"
then a number, and then an "M", or just the number and the "M"

I gather that the number is the megapixels, and the M stands for Megapixel,
but what does the W in front stand for?

W probably stands for widescreen (16:9 screen ratio).

I'll have to look at the aspect ratios and see if that's it. Sounds reasonable.

Also: how does the video camera limit size for MMS? Resolution, or video length?
