Default Screen Off VS Lock Screen

I just got my Galaxy SII today and I have a very basic question.

Does Android differentiate between turning off the screen and locking the device? How can I change the timing on this.

I want the screen to turn off at 30 seconds of no activity and the phone to lock at 30 minutes of no activity.

Is there no way to do this?

Default Re: Screen Off VS Lock Screen

I haven't seen a way to do this with stock settings; screen-off and lock occur at the same time.

However, I saw an app somewhere (can't remember the name, sorry) which can completely disable the lock screen (no swiping etc at all) -- so either that app or another can probably allow you to have the lock screen engage only after X minutes etc.

One of the great things with Android, is you can pretty much do anything with it -- all you need is an available app or mod.
