S2 Battery drain in only a few hours....why?

My S2 battery used to drain empty in approx 2 days when I
first bought it. I have had it for ten months and it drains in about
7 hours. I bought another OEM new battery but that drains just
as quickly.

Can anyone advise what the problem could be?

Several factors can be at play here.

1. Batteries lose their capacity to hold a charge over time after several hundred charge/discharge cycles. So that you may end up with the battery only being able to hold roughly 70% of the charge that it once could when it was new.

2. Something, some app, may be running that is vampiring on your battery. You may want to try a utility like GSam that can dissect your battery usage and let you know precisely what it is that is vampiring on your battery.
