I still have my apps, texts, contacts, memo etc but all the pics, videos, music, docs are completely gone. Some of the folders are in My Files but it's all empty.

Where have my files gone? Is it possible to get them back?

Welcome to Android Central :)
Did you have that data in the external SD card? That's the only reason I can imagine for why you'd lose that while keeping the rest of it. If the card was formatted, it's unlikely that it can all be retrieved

Re: Phone went into factory mode now all files have vanished

Hi thanks. It was all saved internally which is why I don't understand what happened.

The battery died and a message said it was in factory mode and was downloading target and not to switch off. After it finished the phone came back on and was working fine. But laterm on I went to watch a video and it said No files. I cheeked gallery and music and all said the same.

I'm so confused.

Don't know why it would delete only the music and pics/videos then. If you plug it into a computer, do you see any of the files there?

There is an app called disk digger. That might help. I think you need to be rooted. However if the downloading action rewrote the internal, then it won't recover anything.

Hi. Do you know why it went into factory mode and what it actually downloaded?

Everything is lost :(

But I'll look into that app. Thanks.

Offhand, I have no idea why or what downloaded. First I have ever heard of this.

From a SlimKat Tab 2....perhaps not far from you

That is the download mode screen. Not sure why it went there.

Don't know why that would have deleted any of your stuff, especially since it was only the music and pictures

I have just had this same problem, except my photos and videos are still there, but most of my apps have gone and the remaining apps have gone back to older versions. Just woke up the other morning to find it this way. I am also stuck in factory mode and can not get out of it. I tried rooting the phone and going into Root explorer, then efs/FactoryApp but the file FactoryMode does not exist. After looking online this was the only solution as it seems and I cant find anyone who's had the same problem where they cant find this file. Would really appreciate it if someone could help me as I can send/receive calls or texts as it is in Factory Mode it is asking for sim unlock pin again, which I entered but didn't work.
