Re: Finally found a case I love (pics) / Mini-review
This is so helpful. I'm still undecided about my case for my SIII. I just returned the incipio Featherlite because, though beautiful, it had no grip and in my opinion doesn't give that much protection. I have flip case right now but should I drop my phone that will offer not a lot of protection although it does cover the screen of the phone. I've considered the Otterbox, but don't like the thought of all the bulk it adds.... I mean the GS3 is a slim, graceful form, don't want a bulky thing. Right now I'm trying out a gel case - but I don't really like it, so I know I am going to have to change it. It doesn't help that most case makers don't seem to remember that there is a Pebble Blue version... they only seem to make cases for the white phone. If I have to cover up my phone I want something at least a bit beautiful.
I'll check out the iFace cases then.
Edit - Oh my, they look awesome... and I can't believe the price!! Awesome - thanks so much for sharing this! - 07-23-2012, 02:46 PM #29

Re: Finally found a case I love (pics) / Mini-review
As promised, here are some pictures of the Gameboy case:

The Gameboy case is what I would describe as chubbier than the iFace. It provides a bit more protection around the font of the case as it's taller than the iFace. It provides a good grip and there are absolutely no gaps around the screen. All appropriate cut-outs are there. It feels great in the hand. No chance of slipping as the back of the case is all rubber too.
It adds a bit more bulk than the iCase or the "back cases" but it's barely nnoticeableboth physically and cosmetically. Still easy to pocket and remove. I had it on today while wearing jeans. Typically, these full TPU cases are harder to slide in and out of jean pockets, but no issues to report with this retro case.
They do have sellers on eBay located in the US, so if you want this or any of the other cases I mentioned faster and don't mind paying an extra buck or two, that's also an option.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
I'm glad you found this helpful. It was difficult finding cases that would match Pebble Blue. It was a difficult decision and I came close to buying Marble White as my thought was there are more cases that would match.
After getting the PB unit in my hands I was in love. I tried lots of different cases and in all honesty, they all looked good with PB.
I thought it would be impossible to find a red case that looked good with PB.
The red iFace looks great with PB and I'm looking forward to getting their other colors. As I mentioned before, my only qualm is the iFace text on the back of the case. Other than that, I love it. One of my co-workers noticed the iFace on the back today and said "What's this?" thinking it was an Apple product. I knonoddedd said "Yeah, I know."

Re: Finally found a case I love (pics) / Mini-review
It's not so much that I am a snob. It's more that I've learned Apple has become a brand typically associated with the less technical OR people that want to have an Apple product just to say so. Now, don't get me wrong. I give Apple MUCHO credit for the iPhone. This is not a personal attack on iPhone users in general. It is strictly my personal observation and nothing more. I don't want to make enemies with iPhone users.

I truly believe that we wouldn't have what we now have without their contributions to the technology world. I won't get into the patent bull that Apple is pulling to obviously slow down competition. It boils my blood.
When a co-worker tells me having an iPhone is a status symbol in the Philippines laugh. People that make dollars a day (American) will do anything to get one just to be seen using an iPhone. You can look at it two ways: Apple did a kick *** job by marketing the product, which they did. Or, you can say "Why am I going to use my entire months salary (or more!) to buy a phone just to look cool?"
I had an iPhone 3G and LOVED it! It re-kindled my love of phones. It turned a portable device into my all-in-one gadget. I'll never forget downloading my first app from the iTunes App store. I think it was called 1001 Farts.
Once I decided to switch to Android with my HTC EVO, I realized how limited I was with the iPhone.
- I love FTP'ing into my phone to transfer music, pictures, movies and more without cords.
- I love the use of the now European standard (and almost everyone here in the states) of the non-proprietary USB connector.
- I love being able to use different keyboards. I initially used Swype then switched to SlideIT for a year or so. I revisited Swype with the S III and the product has been improved immensely. Go Swype!
- I love being able to change the launcher that is something more to my flavor. It was ADW with the EVO and now APEX with the S III.
- I love widgets. I love seeing the weather on my home screen, scroll to the next and see a widget displaying the stocks I am currently following. All without having to launch an application.
- I love being able to swap batteries and use removable storage. Filled up my 8GB MicroSD? No biggie, bump to 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB with my S III. I don't have to buy an entire new phone.
- Installing apps wirelessly from the Google Play store. I think the most recent version of iOS now allows this, but before even before Google launched this ability, I used AppBrain to surf on a nice big screen and install apps onto my phone without ever having to touch it.
- Flash. While it's now a dying breed, I love being able to surf flash based websites. Regardless of Jobs' opinions of it being a battery hog. I still had the ability.
- App integration such as Google Voice. I can call Canada and Google Voice will automatically know it's an international call and the display will tell me that Google Voice is using the call. Calling Canada is free via Voice and it's paid for itself dozens upon dozens of times. We have lots of family up there and to be able to communicate with family I rarely see without worrying about a huge bill is a godsend.
- Notification bar! My god, what an awesome creation. Apple recently added it to their iPhone line-up, but I love having centralized notifications. Not crap appearing on my screen while I am already doing something else.
I could go on and on, but it's time to take my dog for a walk.

Re: Finally found a case I love (pics) / Mini-review
lmao well said m8
think i was always anti-iphone coz i had a nokia n95 (symbian os) when 1st iphone came out + the nokia could do so much more but had nowhere near as much hype. i know in the US iphones account for half of all smartphones but in the UK theyr a bit more rare (less people use subsidised contracts i think) and most of the iphone users are less geeky and more fashion concious.. im more of a geek

Re: Finally found a case I love (pics) / Mini-review
On the subject of screen protectors, I hate them, but the spigen ultra clear nano is bada$$!. It feels just like the glass and it's so thin you forget it is there.
I was rocking my s3 naked until I had to get a replacement because of a defect in the housing. When I turned my phone back in I noticed a small scratch on the screen. I was using a dedicated pocket and really baby the phone. The screen can be scratched. The spigen in my opinion is perfect as far a close to glass as you can get. There are some reviews on YouTube. Check it out. - 07-23-2012, 11:45 PM #37

Re: Finally found a case I love (pics) / Mini-review
thanks for the review! I've been looking for a good case for my new Galaxy S3 but there are so many I can't really choose. I think I'll purchase couple from different companies and see which ones I like. All I know is otterbox is not really my style because it's too bulky. Looking for something more slick. Perhaps pouch style. If anyone has any suggestions, please help

I first thought the Otterbox was bulky but that was before I actually tried it. Now I have it on my S3 and after trying more cases than I care to think about I can say that the Otterbox is hands down the best case. It really adds little if any bulk to the phone. I was surprised. It gives all round protection and a great grip plus that all important lip so I no longer worry about turning my phone over on it's face. I love it.
The one thing I did do though was remove the plastic screen protector and instead put my own on. Perfecto.

I ordered the Iface cases, didn't like them as the didn't cover enough of the phone for me. And I found they showed oily marks easily. But thanks for the review. I did find it useful.
