My coworker has it and it's okay, although it screws with the NFC. We tried to share pics and the phones won't connect through the plate. Also he generally has one less bar than me on signal so I wonder if it's affected the radio as well.

Re: Would you recommend the Case Mate Brushed Aluminum Barely The
I ordered the CaseMate Barely There case a couple of weeks ago and I returned it because it did not seem to snap evenly on the phone, meaning if you look at the flat profile of the phone, one side of the protector rose higher on one side than it did on the other. This resulted in the effect that if you pressed firmly on one of the corners on the lower side, the case would pop off.
They are sending me another, but if it has the same issues I will just return them for a refund. I also don't like how they scrape across whichever side buttons are on the last side of the device to get fitted
I tried several times to ensure it wasn't me putting the case on incorrectly, but in general the fit just was not that good. I will see how it goes when they send me the replacement.
The case when on, was almost as good as not having one on for thinness and staying true to the phone's original profile. No real protective capabilites though other than allowing you to place the phone on it's back without the camera lense touching the counter. - 08-16-2012, 06:01 AM #6
Case looks nice but protection trumps style considering how much phones cost. In addition, I hate dings so go with a rugged case like the Commuter or the Defender. When you drop your phone, you don't have to worry about the case popping off. The Commuter adds less bulk than the Defender but the Defender has a non-adhesive screen protector. Don't go for a less expensive because you will regret it later.

Thanks for the advice,
but my concern is with a big case like that it won't fit in my pants pocket. Have you had any issue with the Commuter?
Also I'm getting the insurance from Best Buy so i'm not that worried about breaking the phone - 08-16-2012, 05:28 PM #8

The Commuter while I had was still very slim and fit great in a pocket. The drawback to the Commuter is the adhesive screen protector versus the non-adhesive one on the Defender. Checkout my review video which is posted in this subject-forum and can also be accessed via the YouTube link in my profile above. I have the Commuter on the phone to start the review.

Re: Would you recommend the Case Mate Brushed Aluminum Barely The
OK So CaseMate sent me a replacement case and it fits perfectly now.
It is so sleek that you can feel almost NO additional bulk with the case on. The catch, the case is about as slick as the phone back itself. I just put on a patch of transparent screen protector on the back to protect the custom image I had put on it, and to provide just a bit more grip than what the case offers.
I am totally loving the way the phone looks and feels. I had a softer case before, and while I loved the colour and it was thin, it did add bulk to the case and it's looks didn't appeal to me.
With the CaseMate Barely there, you CAN put the device face down and not worry about scratches because it does have a small lip on each side of the screen (not the top or bottom).
I don't forsee getting rid of this for better protection as I am generally pretty careful with my devices, and if i drop it, I can only hope it lands on the best angle possible
The case style is worth the risk for me. The ONLY thing I would consider changing is going with a similar form factor case but with more grip to it. - 08-21-2012, 12:29 PM #10
