Default Recommend a case for me!

Hey everyone! I'm getting my S3 in about a week or less and I was contemplating what case to buy. Now I would be putting the SGS3 in my pocket and it would be there alot as when I'm a college student, and I don't exactly carry it around in my hand, and usually just keep it in my pocket during class and whatnot. I was gunna buy the blue Spigen Flip Case seen here : Amazon.com: SPIGEN SGP Samsung Galaxy S3 Case Leather Flip Cover Protection [Ultra Flip] for AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, International, i9300 - Blue: Cell Phones & Accessories
but I was hearing how the flip part can get very annoying when you have to answer calls or when taking pictures. The reason I was gunna grab the flip case is because I know it'd offer extreme protection whilst in my pocket.

What do you guys think I should get? I was also contemplating grabbing the Elago G5 Breathe Case for the SGS3 in combination with a Screen Protector but I still don't know if it'd be better than grabbing the Flip Case + Screen Protector.

    Help me!

I was considering an OB Defender/Commuter but they just look SO bulky. How do they actually feel? I would have preferred like a slim, yet protective case you know?

If you're thinking of getting an Otterbox why don't you wait for Seidio's Obex Case. It's water/dust proof. It exceeds IP68 ratings. Can be emerged in water at a minimum of 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Because Otterboxes are kind of bulky, I'd rather go with this bulky case with extra protection.

I think that's a bit over the top for me lmao. I'm just a college student and I tend to take care of my phones, or so I like to think lol.

I just wanted a good case/cover that can protect the SGS3 whilst in my pocket and give me extra grip on it as I heard it can be quite slippery. Oh and a Screen Protector is a must for me.

EDIT: On second thought... I just might buy an otterbox commuter or something. I just read that the screen can crack easily o-o

I have a red Acase Superleggera from Amazon for $15 Amazon.com: Acase Samsung Galaxy S3 Case - Superleggera PRO Dual Layer Protection (Black/Black) (Fits AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile and Verizon): Cell Phones & Accessories Fits nicely and protects the phone too.. No complaints and as you can see, most people that bought it rate it very highly. And it's much less money than the Incipio or Otterbox.. inner case is flexible and covers the buttons which can be pushed easily

That case does actually look REALLY good for its price! I do have a bit of a fright now however, about the screen breaking. It's making me WANT to dish out over $40 to get the OB Defender that has the front cover as well. I'm so indecisive.

Not bulky at all unless you have really tight pants and very small pockets. It has a built-in scree protector.

So if I was to shove the phone into my pocket, it wouldn't get dinged up or scratched?

EDIT: I decided to order an Otterbox Commuter in Blue to match my Pebble Blue SGS3. Was really contemplating that Acase one that Jontalk had recommended, but the blue case looked ed, and plus, the Otterbox was just $20 incl a Screen Protector.

    Thanks for the help guys!

Get a Zagg HD screen protector from Best Buy while you wait for your case to arrive.

I bought the Samsung flip case. Fits wonderfully and works great. I bought the Verizon one which seems to be better quality than the others. I bought a spigen flip case online and just got it. I'll be returning the spigen. It doesn't seem to fit as well as the Samsung one does.

I purchased the kit from Verizon which had the same type of hard case that has a belt clip that I had used with my Droid Incredible and the case also has a built in stand on the back of the case. The kit also came with screen protectors and a car charger. It was exactly what I wanted.

If you really wan't protection you need to get a good screen protector, flip cover (protect the screen even more), case that fits over the flip cover. I have yet to do it though.

I'm a college student also and I tend to take care of my electronics. No scratches on any of my tablets so far. Never dropped my previous phone, and all my computers ranging from 10 years to less are all still working nicely. But phone's are a bit expensive. I still have my warranty and I pay for insurance but even with insurance it would be expensive to replace an S3. That's why I'm thinking of going from a naked/thin case to a bulkier case. Water protection will just help as it's been raining in my area recently and my clothes get wet every week.

Well I can't exactly grab another case yet. The OB Commuter should more than protect my S3 and I do plan on getting a Zaggs Screen Protector, but I wanna try out the Screen Protector that comes with the OB first, just as a temp solution til I grab the Zaggs.

I also have the Otterbox Commuter and love it! Great protection with being to bulky! The screen protector that the Commuter comes is more than enough, in my opinion.

Great to hear from someone who actually uses the OB Commuter's Screen Protector. How does it actually cope with the S3 though? Does it diminish the sexy screen or make it look all meh? I'm not really feeling to dish out even more $ for a Zaggs screen protector YET.
